BIO

Gurumurthi V. Ramanan is a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. Earlier, he was the holder of the Srinivasa Ramanujan External Research Studentship of the Trinity College, Cambridge University, where he completed the Part III of Mathematical Tripos. He was an NBHM postdoctoral fellow at Chennai Mathematical Institute. As a member of the Cryptography and Security group at AU-KBC Research Centre, he works  on  aspects of pattern recognition relating to biometrics. He also works on problems in cryptography relating to pseudo-random sequence generation and design of stream ciphers. He collaborates with the Communications group at the Centre on coding theory and with the Natural Language Processing (NLP) group on information retrieval and document ranking.
